HSE First Aid At Work Instructor

Outline

This course is designed to enable the successful candidate to train and assess Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid courses. The course is run over five days and covers two essential areas:

  • In-depth first aid knowledge-designed to give students the extra knowledge to enable them to train first aid effectively.
  • Teaching and training practice.

Over the five days students will complete elements of First Responder training, to provide a good grounding in the subject matter, over and above that taught on First Aid courses.

In addition students will receive training and advice in delivering and assessing AED and First Aid courses. Students will also deliver a minimum of one practical and one theory session each in the course of the week. This will be assessed, and feedback given to the potential instructor.

On successful completion students will be qualified to train and assess AED Use and First Aid courses for HSE Registered companies. It is important to understand that it is the “company” and not the “individual” that holds HSE approval-there is no such thing as a “HSE Approved First Aid Instructor”.
