First Aid for the Security Industry

Under the SIA Licensing requirements for Door Supervisors, individuals must show ongoing development and training to assist in their role as a supervisor.

First Line Response has developed our Emergency First Aid course to meet these requirements by creating a bespoke 6 hour optional course ensuring door supervisors gain the knowledge and skills in basic life support and job specific injuries. Core subjects include; Puncture and penetrating wounds, Severe head injuries and the recognition and treatment of drug related problems.

This course is taught by current medical professionals with practical experience of working in hostile environments and the security sector.

On completion of this course you will receive certification in accordance with the ‘ Health & Safety Executive First Aid for Appointed Persons' syllabus, which is valid for 3 years. To ensure that skills remain up-to-date.

Course syllabus includes

  • Scene assessment / management
  • Unconscious casualties
  • CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Penetrating wounds and treatment
  • Wounds & Bleeding management
  • Responsibilities and roles

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the delegate, there is no final examination. Those delegates who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years.
